Finished "The Time Keeper" - Mitch Albom

I've been a fan of Mitch Albom's work from his articles in the Detroit Free Press as a sports writer, to his novels (for me starting with "Tuesdays with Morrie").

"The Time Keeper" is a book which resonates with "Einstein's Dreams" by Alan Lightman, as both are fictionalized accounts dealing with the consequences of time.

In Albom's book, the beginning of measurement of time (e.g. water clock) as a watershed moment in human history, where what was once "free" is now tabulated and measured.  The book looks at the personal consequences on the man who began time measurement, and the perspectives of folks in the present, whether they wish for additional time, or wish time would go faster.

As with all of Mitch Albom's books, the characterizations are well built, so there is a wish to find out what is happening to the characters, and their storylines.  This also makes "The Time Keeper" a very fast read, one or two days max, as you drive through the text.  The imagery in this book is excellent - one image of stalagmites and stalactites in a cave forming an hourglass shape is meaningful and well done.
